Make a task story more specific
A broad story about your productivity is making it hard to see what happened in one situation.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Write the broad statement, such as ‘I never finish anything.’
- Describe one recent task using facts: what was completed, what remained, and the conditions or interruptions involved.
- Write a more specific account that includes both limits and effort, then choose whether a practical change is needed.
An example
I finished the outline but not the draft because the meeting ran late. I need a new block of time.
Reflect
Does the specific account feel accurate without minimizing the difficulty?
Next time
Use the account to guide a next step rather than prove you are productive.
