Map a reaction and another response · D1.17
Map the steps leading to an everyday action
You want to understand how a small unwanted pattern unfolded.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Choose a manageable example and list events in order: situation, thoughts or feelings you remember, action, and consequences.
- Mark one point where another option was realistically available, including environmental support.
- Choose a specific alternative to try at that point next time.
An example
I opened messages while writing, followed a link, and lost my place. I can close messages during the next drafting block.
Reflect
Does the sequence explain the action without turning it into a character judgment?
Next time
Review another example only if it helps refine the alternative.
