Adapt the task or ask for work support · S10.7

Change your immediate setup before thinking again

You have been working on the same question in an uncomfortable setup.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Notice one practical feature of your setup, such as seating, glare, noise, or a cramped position.
  2. Make one comfortable adjustment available to you, or take a brief break from the task.
  3. Return to the question and see whether you want to approach it differently; no mental shift is required.

An example

I move the screen away from glare, then reread the question I was struggling with.

Reflect

Was the setup contributing to difficulty, or did the question remain the main issue?

Next time

Keep useful environmental adjustments without interpreting tension as proof of rigid thinking.
