Decide whether a habit change is worth it to you

You have mixed feelings about changing a routine.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Write what you might gain by changing and what you might lose or find difficult.
  2. Name what you value about the current routine, even if you also want something different.
  3. Choose whether to try a small change, seek information, or postpone the decision. Record your reason in your own words.

An example

Planning meals could reduce last-minute choices, but I like flexibility. I could plan two meals and leave the rest open.

Reflect

What tradeoff feels most important, and what remains uncertain?

Next time

Return to the decision when you have more information or different circumstances.
