Notice a thought without following it · D6.9

Set a concern aside for a chosen interval

You want to pause thinking about an unresolved practical issue.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Write the concern and note whether anything needs immediate action.
  2. If it can wait, choose when or under what condition you will return to it; optionally imagine placing the note on a shelf.
  3. Move to another activity, knowing the concern may still return.

An example

I record the scheduling question and will revisit it when the organizer replies.

Reflect

Was there a clear reason and point for returning?

Next time

Address urgent needs rather than using imagery to ignore them.
