Tell a fuller account of an experience · S13.8

Compare two accounts of a shared event

You and another person remember or interpret an ordinary event differently.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Agree on a manageable topic and whether both want to discuss it.
  2. Let each person describe their account without requiring a shared version.
  3. Identify agreed facts, different interpretations, and unknown details; decide what matters for the present.

An example

We agree the plan changed, but remember the explanation differently. We can agree how to confirm future changes.

Reflect

Did the comparison clarify the difference without pressuring agreement?

Next time

Keep disputed details uncertain unless reliable evidence resolves them.
