Notice strengths and real support · S1.3

Find a strength in something you actually did

You want to identify an ability you could draw on without having to describe yourself positively.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Recall one specific situation you handled, even if the outcome was mixed. Describe something you actually did.
  2. Name an ability that action used, such as asking questions, noticing detail, waiting, organizing, or accepting help.
  3. Consider one present situation where that ability might fit. Write an action you could try, or note why it does not fit this time.

An example

I asked for clearer instructions last week. I could use that same question before starting this form.

Reflect

Was the strength label believable and useful, or would a different description fit better?

Next time

If it helps, ask someone you trust for a concrete example rather than a general compliment.
