Invite connection and shared time · S9.10

Learn about someone through a shared activity

Talking directly feels difficult, but you both want to spend time together.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Invite the person to a simple activity you can both choose freely.
  2. During the activity, ask one question about their preferences or experience and listen to the answer.
  3. Notice what you learned and ask whether either of you would like to do it again.

An example

While cooking together, I ask which part of the recipe they enjoy and let them choose a task.

Reflect

Did the activity allow comfortable participation for both people?

Next time

Adapt the activity or choose a different way to connect based on both responses.
