Notice the present or join an activity · D3.3
Participate in one chosen activity
You want to be more involved in an ordinary activity instead of evaluating yourself throughout it.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Choose an activity you want to join and a manageable level of participation.
- Place attention on the next actual part of the activity, such as the current instruction, movement, or turn.
- When evaluation or distraction appears, choose whether to return to the activity, adapt your role, or stop.
An example
During a board game, I focus on my next turn rather than judging whether I am entertaining enough.
Reflect
What helped you participate at a level that suited you?
Next time
Adjust the activity or role rather than demanding uninterrupted attention.
