Use three prompts for a short reflection

You want a bounded way to reflect on an everyday event.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Write what happened using known facts.
  2. Write the meaning you gave it and mark assumptions as assumptions.
  3. Write one current need, question, or action, then stop if you have enough.

An example

The invitation was declined; I read it as rejection; I do not know the reason and can leave that open.

Reflect

Which prompt provided useful clarity?

Next time

Reuse only the prompts that help rather than building a compulsory journal routine.
