Adjust position, space or sensory demands · S4.18

Check one area of comfort, with an external option

You want to notice whether an adjustment would make sitting or working more comfortable.

Everyday practice

Try these steps

  1. Choose one ordinary area of contact, such as where your hands rest, or choose a detail in the room instead.
  2. Notice without scanning for problems or requiring tension to release.
  3. Make a comfortable adjustment if wanted, then stop the check.

An example

I notice my hand resting on a hard edge and move it to a more comfortable spot.

Reflect

Did the brief check lead to a useful adjustment?
