Choose priorities and plan time · S10.19
Narrow a decision when you are under pressure
Too many options are making a pressured moment harder to navigate.
Everyday practice
Try these steps
- Name the decision that actually has to be made now.
- Choose the essential criteria for this decision and set aside details that can wait.
- Compare the available options against those criteria, or ask for more time if the decision does not need to be immediate.
An example
For tonight's meal, I need something available and simple; I do not need the ideal weekly plan.
Reflect
Did you remove irrelevant demands without overlooking an essential constraint?
Next time
